We will update information if necessary as we approach the harvest season.

For the 2023 summer season we will offer two vegetable share sizes: small and large.

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your share, with the balance due before June 1, 2022

How do I sign up?
You can sign up online by clicking "SIGN UP TODAY" at the top or bottom of this page, or going directly to our Shop page. You can also sign up by email by contacting us HERE or by directly emailing us at nokafarm802@gmail.com and arranging to pay by cash, check or electronic payment (card, Paypal or Venmo).

What happens if I miss a share pick up?
We encourage our members to make arrangements each week to be available during pickup hours to collect their Share, but we understand that commitment is not always possible.  Members are encouraged to send a friend or neighbor to pick up their share on weeks when they cannot collect their drop-offs, or to message us in advance to make other arrangements.

Unclaimed shares will be donated at the end of the day and members of our local community are always grateful for the donation!

What happens if there is a terrible storm this season or bad disease?
As members of the farm community, FarmShare-holders assume the risk of farming.  In cases of bad weather (drought, floods, storms, frost, etc.), disease, pests, and other unexpected challenges, there may be shortages in farm products or a lack of diversity.  We will do our VERY BEST to deliver high-quality farm products in their full value each week.  We are part of a large network of local growers that we can work with to fill in gaps in our growing schedule, if needed, to the best of our ability.

There are no refunds for missed shares (on the FarmShare-holder's part) or smaller shares than planned (on the farmer's part). We also reserve the right to reschedule a pickup or delivery day during weather situations where it is deemed unsafe to harvest or travel for pickups/deliveries.

Why should I join the FarmShare, instead of just purchasing food from somewhere else?
First, the FarmShare program is the best way to ensure you have access to fresh, seasonal food each week.  The easiest way to eat healthy is to surround yourself with fresh produce.  It's a great way to learn about what's in season, gather new recipes, and be part of a growing community.

Second, the FarmShare program is one of the best ways to support local farmers!  It provides us with the money needed upfront at the beginning of the season and spreads out some of the risk of growing food for others.  Your investment in our farm directly supports our young family and our local community.

Third, FarmShare members play an ACTIVE role in the local food movement as they spend a season learning about how food on our farm is grown, prepared, and enjoyed.  Through our weekly newsletters you learn about our life and local agriculture, as well as new recipes and menu ideas.

What are the benefits of joining the FarmShare program?

The FarmShare program is the best way to support the farm.  The upfront sign-ups also allows us to get an idea of WHO we are feeding, so we can grow more of the things that you like and develop a recipe selection that best suits your cooking interests. Our members receive a detailed weekly newsletter that includes anecdotes of life on the farm, recipes, and even tips on preserving the harvest to add diversity to your winter meals. Our members try more new foods and eat more vegetables compared to buying from a grocery store.

What types of vegetables are included in the share?
Noka Farm grows a wide array of different varieties of vegetables, berries, herbs, and flowers throughout the spring, summer, and fall.  A short list includes; beans, beets, bok choi, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cucumber, eggplant, greens, kale, kohlrabi, lettuce, melons, onion, peas, peppers, potatoes, radishes, rutabagas, swiss chard, summer squash, winter squash, tomato, turnips, watermelons, zucchini, and so much more!

Can I buy extra items at the farm?

Yes!  New for the 2023 season we will have a small farm stand set up daily for our customers to purchase extra vegetables, fruits, herbs, fresh eggs, cut flowers, canned foods such as jams, jellies and pickles, and our baked goods! All products will be harvested and set out as available, and quantities/availability are not guaranteed. Additionally, new for this season, we are working on pairing up with other local farmers to offer you more local products! Raw milk, grass-fed beef, pork, honey, maple syrup, and more!

Customers will be able to pay with cash, check, Paypal or Venmo. We are hoping to also be able to accept credit cards - more info will be available on that closer to the harvest season.

How do I know if the FarmShare Program will be a good fit for me?

Our members come to the farm from a variety of backgrounds and stages in their lives, but they all value good food, enjoy trying new foods, and set aside time each day to cook.  They value learning about the farm and testing out new recipes.  They value their health and recognize the importance of nutrient dense foods in their diet.  They value developing a relationship with their farmer so that they can become more informed consumers.

What if I can’t use my entire share?

You are always welcome to send us a message to discuss smaller sized deliveries, and/or we encourage sharing your deliveries with friends and family if needed. We also maintain a list of families in need and regularly make donations to the Food Pantry, if you would like us to donate your unneeded share items to someone in need.  Fresh food is ALWAYS appreciated by those in our local community and nothing at the farm goes to waste.

How will the FarmShare be set up?

All of our Shares are pre-packaged in
pulp baskets, kraft paper bags and/or brown boxes for easy recycling. We choose the varieties each week based off of available harvests, and package them up. All standard FarmShares are packaged with the same items. Please note in your order any food allergies, or if there are any specific vegetables that you definitely would not eat. We will do our best to accommodate special requests, but we do not guarantee substitutions, except for allergens.

Can I sign up for just one month?

In following the spirit of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), we ask that all members commit to the entire share season.  This allows us, the farmers, to best plan the farm.  In our experience, members that commit themselves to the farm for several months at a stretch are the ones that have the best experience overall, because they are able to immerse themselves in the experience and develop positive changes in their cooking and eating habits.  They also get to enjoy our full selection of vegetables.

New for the 2023 season, we will also be offering MarketShare CSAs, where customers purchase a set dollar-value in the spring, to be used all season long. If a full Farm
Share is not something you want to commit to, a MarketShare might be the perfect solution! Check out more details HERE.

Are you raising chickens again this year?  Or offering a MeatShare?

For the 2023 season we will have a limited number of pasture-raised chicken and quail available. If you are interested in purchasing chicken or quail, please check out our Poultry webpage, or go directly to our Shop page.

Do you offer payment plans?

We understand that times are tough for many families. We believe that EVERYONE has the right to fresh, local food regardless of income or circumstance. When placing your orders, we offer either payment in full, or a payment plan. If you would like to enter into a payment plan, just select "MANUAL PAYMENT" during checkout. You will receive an invoice directly to your provided email address reflecting the full balance of your CSA purchase. A 50% deposit will be required to finalize your CSA signup. After the initial deposit is paid, you will be able to pay off the remaining balance as best fits your schedule. All FarmShare balances are required to be paid in full by June 1, 2023.

What is your CSA Cancellation Policy?
Once you sign up and pay the deposit on your CSA, you have secured your place in the CSA program for that season.

There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of a CSA once purchased. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of their season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person, once we, the farm, have been notified in writing. The alternate person is responsible for paying the original shareholder directly.
