Herb Seed Packets
Basil (Genovese) - Italian variety with extremely fragrant, extra-large leaves that are 3” long, smooth and dark green. Slow bolting. Superb for pesto. Annual. 60 days.
Basil (Purple) - Dark, shiny, true-purple colored leaves with a strong pepper tasting basil flavor. Annual. 60 days.
Chamomile (German) - Tall plant that has downy stems, feather-like fuzzy leaves and deep-yellow, daisy-like flowers with an apple flavor and fragrance. Commonly dried for tea. Annual. 63 days.
Cilantro - Foliage is called Cilantro while edible seeds are called Coriander. Excellent for salads, salsas and garnishes. Slow to bolt. 18" tall. Annual. 30 days leaves, 70 days seeds.
Dill - Leaves are used fresh and dried in salad, dip, vinegar, meat, fish and vegetable dishes. The dried seeds are used to flavor pickles. Self seeding. Annual. 60 days.
Lemon Balm - a sweetly lemon-mint scented plant that is easy to grow. Cut the plants back when they start blooming if you don’t want it to self seed. Use it in teas, mixed drinks and salads. Perennial.
Oregano - Thick green leaves are strongly scented and are widely used to flavor tomato sauce, meat, fish, salads and Italian dishes. 12-18" tall. Perennial.
Parsley (Flat Leaf) - Large, glossy dark green leaves with long stems. Annual. 60 days.
Rosemary - Classic flavor and scent. An evergreen shrub like plant with gray-green needle like leaves. Can be brought indoors for the winter in a pot to be kept as a perennial.
Sage - Easy to grow plant with gray-green leaves, beautiful flower spikes and woody stems. Aromatic leaves are used for meat and poultry dishes, stew, chowder, cheese and even in tea. Perennial.
Thyme - Plants have tiny, oval, dark green leaves with a robust flavor. The plants are bushy and well branched. Perennial.
